The ESL program requires regular attendance in all the courses it offers. Instructors are responsible for keeping careful daily attendance records and monitoring absences so that the attendance policy can be upheld. Attendance must be calculated into the grade (absences and tardies should negatively impact a student's grade).

Attendance policy for F2F courses

This page contains information on the attendance policy for face-to-face courses including recording attendance, attendance warnings, conflicts with exams/activities/field trips, and grading attendance.

Attendance policy for online courses

The ESL Program Attendance Policy cannot be implemented in the online format in the same way because you can’t quantify "absences" in the same way as for the f2f format. This post contains information on how you can track student activity in online courses.

ESL student attendance issues notification system

This is a semi-automated reporting and tracking system for students with irregular attendance. See this post to learn about the system and how to begin a new case.
